Launch Control
MacPrefect includes a component that allows you to control which Applications can be launched.
By using the Launch Control tool you can specify exactly what applications a user can access. You can elect to allow all or no applications to be run from a specific location, for example, floppy disks.
You can also create a specific list of applications that can be launched from a certain location. Any item that is not on this specific list will be invisible, and therefore the user will not be able to launch it.
Using the Launch Control Tool you can create an environment where, for example, students cannot launch items from floppy disks or file servers but they can launch any item on the internal hard disk and on any compact disks.
