Introducing a revolutionary new methodology for desktop protection on the Macintosh: Software Regeneration from Hi Resolution

Jefferson County Public Schools Deploys MacAdministrator to 12,000 Macs

Toronto, ON - Dec 1, 2004 - 98,000-Student District Chooses the Total Macintosh Network Management Solution

Jefferson County Public Schools, KY, the 28th largest school district in the U.S. with over 150 schools, is deploying MacAdministrator throughout the district's 12,000 networked Macintosh computers to answer its call for a total network administration, desktop protection and control system for the Macintosh platform.

MacAdministrator's ability to work directly against any AFP or AFP/IP compliant server also came to the fore while the district was evaluating administration options for their Macintosh clients. It was during this period that the decision was made to move away from their Windows 2000 server platform and adopt Linux and NetAtalk as a replacement.

MacAdministrator's ability to empower administrators with complete control of the desktop and a range of powerful network management features such as software distribution, hardware and software auditing, and print control, meant that the district's technology infrastructure would now be operating with new levels of efficiency and reach.

MacAdministrator has evolved from over a decade of expertise in the field of Macintosh management and was the first network administration, desktop protection and control product available. Today, it stands unrivalled as the most sophisticated, reliable and comprehensive method of delivering control to the fingertips of network administrators in thousands of organizations around the world.

Hi Resolution Open Canadian Headquarters

Hi Resolution is to open a new North American headquarters in Toronto in April this year.

The company will begin operations from the new offices in Toronto's Airport Corporate Centre from April 7th, an area that has seen rapid growth and investment from technology companies in recent years.

Douglas Shankland, CEO, said, "The GTA [Greater Toronto Area] is well known for its rich resource of highly qualified personnel and technology companies. This investment will help to continue the development of Hi Resolution in Canada and the US where the K-12 and Higher Education markets for MacAdministrator and the uptake of our Audit and License Management solutions among corporate bodies has demanded that we respond with a greater presence. With a new software development and technical support team for North America in place we are now in a strong position to increase product development and range, and provide the best possible support for our customers.

"Hi Resolution has experienced tremendous growth in North America in the past year. We have developed relationships with many new major customers and, with MacAdministrator in particular, the uptake across school boards has been phenomenal."

Sales Manager Nicky Delahunty is one of six senior personnel who will be transferring from the company's UK headquarters to set up and build departments, and is looking forward to the challenge of further developing the North American markets. "Hi Resolution's impressive growth in the US and Canada has created a strong, positive presence in the education market and has also shown increasing success in the corporate sector. This foundation is the basis for the repositioning of the company."

The expansion will lead to further employment in the software development, technical support, sales and marketing areas, and has been welcomed by Toronto's commercial bodies. Karen Campbell, President & CEO of the Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance welcomed the company. "We are delighted that Hi Resolution selected the GTA and are very confident it will prove to be a successful long-term investment for the company and further evidence of the increasing interest and investment in Canada from the US and around the world."

Hi Resolution will continue to operate the US administration and sales division from its US office in Columbia, Illinois, which currently serves the entire North American market.

Hi Resolution Software Inc., Canada, will occupy its new premises from 1st April and commence operation from 7th April 2003. Click here to view full contact details.

Hi Resolution Announce
Agreement with HP for License Management

Hi Resolution, the award winning software developer for Macintosh computers, has announced a technology agreement with Hewlett Packard aimed at providing License Management solutions to corporate environments where both Macintosh computers and PC's are present.

The contract, which will see the fast-growing British company supply the Audit and Software Distribution modules of MacAdministrator to HP, on a license basis, followed an extensive testing period by HP which concluded Hi Resolution's product to be the most powerful and effective solution available.

These modules will facilitate License Management on the Macintosh computers within an organization, using an extensive range of WAN features and automatic updates to provide a detailed and valuable breakdown of hardware and software resources.

The agreement has made an immediate impact and is already being implemented across one hundred international offices of one of the world's largest communication groups.

The Software Acquisition Service delivered by HP will provide customers with a single source for managing the complex cycle of purchasing, implementing, maintaining, upgrading and supporting I.T. environments worldwide.

By combining technology objectives with the License Management Service, customers can measure acquired licenses against software actually installed, re-use and reallocate licenses within the organization, and eliminate the threat of non-compliance penalties.

An understanding and efficiently managing software licenses will significantly reduce license cost, exposing over-licensing and eliminating under-licensing, whilst also reporting on unlicensed pirated software that can put a company or organization at risk.

These features will mean reduced costs, improved control and efficiency, and enable customers to maximize resources.

The contract is the latest in a string of successes for the company, with offices on both sides of the Atlantic, having experienced phenomenal growth in the U.S. education market throughout last year in addition to picking up the coveted Macworld Best Education award for MacAdministrator.

1st August 2002 >> Hi Resolution Launches Ad campaign.

Hi Resolution kicked off its Autumn advertising campaign in North America on August 1st in time for the 'back-to-school' period. The campaign launched in the eSchool News August edition, released on 1st August, and promotes a number of the clear advantages of Hi Resolution's products.

The feel of the campaign is consistent with much of the companies philosophy; that good products impress without the need of a fanfare, relying simply instead on relevant, powerful and flexible features and a number of money and time-saving benefits.

The familiar tone throughout the series provokes thought and a certain interaction from those who haven't yet discovered why Macworld described Hi Resolution as "a gem in the education market for Apple", suggesting that those who have, 'know better'.
