The Death of Print Media
Tuesday, August 30th, 2011To put it bluntly, we have been phasing out our print business for sometime now. More out of request than by choice. It’s a simply supply/demand problem. We ain’t supplying what people ain’t demanding. Have I made myself clear. If you own a Kindle or an iPad or even a laptop computer for that matter, you will know exactly what I am referring to. It is the death of print media.
Shoot, I don’t even know why we do the whole business card thing anymore. Is it because old habits die hard? Isn’t there an app for that? And with countless newspapers closing around the country, it’s no wonder we are seeing a flock toward digital media.
The recession has only helped to fuel the disappearance of print. And good riddance. It’s that simple process of “creative destruction.” If you really think digital doesn’t pollute, you’re dead wrong on that one too. Digital pollutes. Hopefully the damage isn’t as bad as cutting down and grinding up a bunch of trees. The verdict is still out. Certainly
